Risen Fest began in 2023, with a cabin trip over Easter weekend. From 4-hour DJ sets to baskets full of Easter candy to watercolor paintings of our pets, the weekend brought us back to life. It was cup-filling and we recognized the potential magic that is unlocked when people come together with intent to pursue fulfillment and joy. When we set aside time to lean into what we needed, we could unburden ourselves from everything we were carrying, and we could heal.

The weight of the world can be crushing between work, relationships, school, hobbies, etc. Not to mention the added pressures of our own expectations and insecurities. When everything is moving too fast, we don’t even realize how small we make ourselves. We all need a chance to slow it down, take a break, and feel ready to take up space again. Risen Fest is all of that and more. Over the last couple of years, the weekend has given us the chance to reflect on what matters to us, and orient ourselves around it. We leave Risen Fest each year feeling inspired, enlightened, and rejuvenated. Risen, if you will.

We hold Risen Fest annually as a recurring reminder that magic spaces do not exist by accident. They only exist through intent. We carve out the time to celebrate ourselves, our joy, and our community. We demarcate the space to do so safely and without judgment. And we revel in the brilliance and creativity of those around us.
