FAQs
Can I stay for less than the full time?
Of course! Everyone is welcome to stay the whole weekend, but whether you come for one, two, or three nights is entirely up to you. You’ll only have to pay for the nights that you’re actually here, so do what works best for you and your schedule.
What should I pack?
Most importantly, pack for the weather. It’s April in the Poconos, so it’s likely that it will be temperate during the day and get pretty cold at night. Weather depending, we also may do some outdoor activities. There is a fire pit on the property we could use for a bonfire, and you also may want to bring a bathing suit for the hot tub. The property has sheets and towels, but if you have a favorite blanket or pillow, those are welcome too. Please plan to bring all your own toiletries.
What are the sleeping situations going to be?
Everyone will have a bed available to them. However, most rooms have one 2-person bed and two twin bunks, so it’s possible that couples sleep separately or that friends share a bed. If it’s an absolute must that you and someone else share a bed, you may want to bring an air mattress just to be safe.
Will there be space to park my car if I drive?
Yup! Carpooling is encouraged, but we should have room for anyone’s car on the property.
Can I bring friends or a plus one?
Not without asking. The rental has a capacity limit, and we will get penalized if we go over that number. It’s possible that we may be able to add more people as we get closer to the event, but we want to make sure we’re being careful about head count.
How will money be figured out?
Each person’s total contribution will be determined by how many days they stay and how many total people are attending. We will take the total cost of the weekend, and divide it by those numbers to figure out what people owe, then we will figure out payments at or around the event. Please be ready to use some form of digital payment to make things easier.
What items are prohibited?
Basically just weapons, explosives, and anything that could do damage to other people or the property. Please minimize the amount of glass you’re bringing with you, particularly glass bottles. Also no drones please. Any recording equipment is okay. If there’s something you’re hoping to bring that you’re unsure about, just ask! We’ll figure it out together.
How are you handling food?
We’ll plan to provide some lunch options - think deli and PB&J sandwiches - as well as some snacks, but to try and keep costs down this year, we will not be cooking family style dinners like we did last year. Please plan to bring some dinner options for yourself and/or your group for the nights that you’re attending.
If you would like to prepare a large batch meal for the event, that is allowed and encouraged! Just reach out, and we can talk about what that would look like, potentially factoring it into your total cost for the weekend.
What’s the deal with party favors?
You’re encouraged to bring your party favors of choice! If you are interested in favors, but do not have the access or ability to get them for yourself, that’s totally okay - just let us know!
Can I teach a workshop or play a set?
Yes! This year, we really want to encourage people to share their talents and skills with the group. If you’d like to lead a workshop or activity or put on a performance at this year’s event, please let us know. The schedule for the weekend is very flexible, so we’re happy to accommodate your ideas however we can. Just reach out, and let’s figure it out together.
